We all remember how The Lord of the Rings astounded the world way back in 2001-2003. At the time, thousands of moviegoers dreamed of exploring Middle Earth and debated who was the more handsome character: Legolas or Aragorn.

Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood)

Apart from continuing to act in movies and providing voice acting for animated films, Elijah has founded the sound-recording company Simian Records. One of his most well-known appearances after The Lord of the Rings was in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind as the character Patrick.

Legolas (Orlando Bloom)

When he took on the role of Legolas the Elf, Orlando Bloom was still a largely unknown actor. A few years later, he starred in another highly successful movie, Pirates of the Caribbean, which will soon delight us with a new installment.

Gandalf (Ian McKellen)

Ian McKellen first starred in movies in the 1970s, but he became particularly well known in the 1990s. His most famous roles were as Nicholas II in the movie Rasputin and as Magneto in the movie adaptations of the X-Men comic books. In 1989 he was knighted by Queen Elizabeth II.

Aragorn (Viggo Mortensen)

Apart from his acting work, this actor with Danish ancestry is also a famous artist, photographer, poet, and musician. He founded a publishing company which publishes the works of little-known authors. He has also been awarded the Knight’s Cross of the Order of the Dannebrog.
